It takes immense courage to continue pushing towards your dreams when life throws unexpected curves along your way. It takes mental fortitude and a strong determination to carry on against all odds. Things get even harder when it comes to your family and loved ones. Rabia Monga faced a similar situation. She lost her father to a 7-year long grave illness. Emotional and financial troubles followed which made it hard for her to focus on her dreams.

Despite facing these troubles, Rabia managed to get selected for the PNB Housing Finance Limited Protsahan Scholarship. Let’s find out more about her journey. Below are excerpts from our conversation with her.

Buddy4Study: Tell us briefly about your academic and professional journey till now.

Rabia: I am currently pursuing PGDM-International Business in Marketing from Birla Institute of Management Technology, Greater Noida. I am also doing my Summer Internship with PNB Housing Finance Ltd. in Digital Marketing. I have completed my graduation in B.Com from Gargi College, University of Delhi. During my graduation, I have also done a few social media marketing internships with Wooplr and CoHo.in.

Buddy4Study: What motivated you to choose Marketing as your field of specialisation?

Rabia: I chose to specialise in Marketing. What interests me the most about marketing is the power to influence people and being a fashion and a social media influencer, this has always been my area of interest. Marketing is a very innovative field which fascinated me as I could relate to it.

Buddy4Study: What difficulties did you encounter during the course of your educational journey?

Rabia: I lost my father to a grave illness while I was pursuing my graduation. He had been sick for the past 7 years which apart from the emotional turmoil that my family and I had to go through, made us financially weak to fund my higher education. This was the major difficulty that I had to face.

Buddy4Study: What has been your source of inspiration?

Rabia: My parents have always wanted me to achieve greater heights and have always believed in me even when I doubted myself. Their faith and belief in me has been my greatest source of inspiration and has always pushed me to work better and harder.

Buddy4Study: Tell us a little about your family’s contribution toward your venture to pursue an MBA course.

Rabia: My family has been very supportive and has always persuaded and motivated me to achieve my dreams. They have always been my backbone and have made ends meet to fund my education.

Buddy4Study: How did you come to know about the PNB Housing Finance Limited Protsahan Scholarship? What steps did you follow to apply for this scholarship?

Rabia: I came to know about the PNB Housing Finance Limited Protsahan Scholarship through my college when the company visited our campus to brief us about the same.

I met all the criteria required to be eligible for the scholarship, so I applied for the same through Buddy4Studdy and submitted all the necessary documents.

Buddy4Study: How do you plan to spend the scholarship amount that you have won?

Rabia: I will be utilizing the scholarship amount to fund my MBA education.

Buddy4Study: What goals have you set for yourself in the future?

Rabia: I have always categorized my career into short-term and long-term goals. My short-term goal is to secure a good placement in a dynamic organization by the end of this year with a good profile and a decent package to sustain myself and my family. My long-term goals include growing and enhancing my skill set and gaining expertise in my field. I aim to be a top executive of a Fortune 500 company.

Buddy4Study: How do plan to give back the support to the society that you gained from it?

Rabia: I plan to donate a part of my salary to NGOs for the betterment of society. I will also be donating a certain sum of money from the stipend that I will be getting from my internship. Apart from the monetary contribution, I also plan to visit old age homes and spend time with the senior citizens there. Along with this, I also plan to visit NGOs with cancer patient kids and play with them and teach them.

Buddy4Study: What advice would you like to give to the young ones who want to pursue higher education?

Rabia: My advice to the young ones would be to never give up on their dreams no matter how hard the situation is. They should never limit themselves and should always keep on challenging themselves to grow and learn more. Another very important advice would be to keep themselves updated with the happenings around the world across all domains.
